GAVA Named Inaugural Urban Roots Food Access Partner of the Year for 2024
At our Tour de Farm event on May 15, we recognized some special friends-of-the-farm who helped us grow our positive impact in the community. We are honored to name Go Austin/Vamos! Austin (GAVA) our first-ever Food Access Partner of the Year.
GAVA partners have loaded up their cars to deliver fresh produce to neighbors each week, ensuring our crops reach every corner of our community and are delivered with care. Having started a much-needed food distribution program in response to the pandemic in 2020, they have shared knowledge and resources, making it possible for Urban Roots to take the operation “in house” with our new Hojas program this spring (read more soon!). GAVA inspires us as they tirelessly work to meet the needs of the community!
