Ready? Set? Farm!
In our Summer Farm Program, young people ages 13-18 get involved with Urban Roots and get paid for their work and learning opportunities!
Over six weeks in the summer you will:
– Get your hands dirty harvesting and processing food for our community on the Urban Roots farms.
– Find out what Food Justice looks like in Austin through visits to food access organizations and activities on the farm.
– Cook delicious meals with local chefs and share them with guests on the farm.
– Lead volunteers through farm tasks as an expert.
– Get to know lots of other awesome young people from different neighborhoods, schools and cultures.
– Have a blast doing all of it!
Applicants must be attending high school in the fall of 2025 (ninth through twelfth grade).
Program dates are TBD, June through July 2025
Program participants each earn a participation award of $1300 for the six-week program.
The application will open on December 16, 2024. If you’re viewing this page before then, SIGN UP FOR OUR EMAILS and select “Youth Programs” as one of your interests to be informed when applications open. Read more about youth opportunities here.
