It’s time to lift our shovels in celebration and welcome the Urban Roots fall harvest! Seed to Harvest marks the beginning of the fall growing season for our youth leadership program and a chance to celebrate with your foodie friends! Join us to hear from our amazing youth leaders and enjoy bites from our friends at Comedor, Austin Secret Kitchen, and Nada Moo! Share beverages courtesy of Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Duchman Family Winery, Hops & Grain Brewery, Rambler Sparkling Water, and the Soup Peddler! Music by DJ Winnah Daniels and Glitter Bar from The Glitter Queens.
We are looking forward to cooler temperatures and our first Open House of the season! As always, Open Houses are free and open to everyone — it’s the perfect experience whether it’s your first time on the farm or you’re already part of the family. The Open House will include a farm tour, hearing from some of our amazing young people, and sharing drinks and delicious bites from our partner Tito Adobo. Please RSVP if you can make it!
Join us on the farm for delicious snacks, a few words from our youth leaders, and a leisurely farm tour! This event is completely free and open to all — it’s the perfect experience whether it’s your first time on the farm or you already know the scoop and just want to enjoy some time with the Urban Roots family. We look forward to seeing you on the farm!
* This event was originally scheduled for 5/18, but was postponed due to the threat of severe weather. Thank you!
Urban Roots’ Tour de Farm is the most unique non-profit event in Austin, combining our farm-fresh produce and the city’s top chefs to raise money for Austin’s young leaders. Highlights of this premiere evening include signature cocktails, farm-fresh tastings of produce grown at Urban Roots, the absolute best that Austin has to offer in our Silent Auction, and inspiring stories from Urban Roots youth leaders. To read a recap of the event, click through below.
Join the Neil-Cochran House Museum for a trip through history which will begin at 6:00 and run for approximately 20 minutes. Mezcal (courtesy of Susto Mezcal), roast pig (courtesy of Rosso & Flynn Modern Butchers), and live music round out what we hope will make for, if you will, a very happy (less than an) hour of history. A portion of the proceeds of this event will benefit local youth leadership and food sustainability nonprofit Urban Roots. Admission is $20 to the general public.
