Cast Your Vote: Urban Roots is on the Wheatsville Ballot

Are you a Wheatsville Owner? Vote for Urban Roots to be a Community Action recipient in 2021!

Urban Roots is on the ballot in this year’s Wheatsville Co-Op’s Owner Election! Help us raise money, win volunteers, and get the word out about Urban Roots by casting your vote between now and November 20th. Your vote matters!

Every fall, Wheatsville Owners vote for 11 local non-profit organizations to support throughout the upcoming year. Wheatsville pledges a $1,000 donation to each non-profit and accepts additional cash donations by Rounding Up at the registers throughout the month. In addition, Wheatsville staff will offer volunteer service to the non-profits within their designated month.

Urban Roots last won the election in 2018 and in October 2019, we received nearly $13,000 in donations from Wheatsville’s Community Action Program. Vote for Urban Roots in this year’s election and together we will:

• Pay equitable stipends to our 2020 Food & Leadership Fellows and South Austin Interns.
• Donate more than 20,000 lbs of produce to our most vulnerable neighbors.
• Introduce hundreds of new community members to Urban Roots, our youth leaders, and the transformative magic of urban farming!
