This process takes time, but with community members like you, every milestone feels extra rewarding! Urban Roots was recently awarded a grant from the USDA National Institute of Food & Agriculture and the critical timing of that funding cannot be understated. This grant will allow Urban Roots to continue growing youth programming and community outreach in Southeast Austin, along with laying the groundwork for the new farm. The community support we were able to include in our application was undoubtedly the key to this award, and we want to thank everyone who was a part of that application process. We really do feel the warmth and support that Dove Springs and the greater Southeast Austin area is known for. The grant, known as the Community Food Projects, will provide much-needed funding for the next three years, and we can’t wait to share each milestone with you along the way!
