Hello, Fellow Supporters,
On behalf of the Urban Roots Board of Directors, it is my pleasure to introduce you to our new Executive Director, Frances Deviney. She brings 20 years of leadership to our organization across various fields. Most recently, she has consulted with the Annie E. Casey Foundation, in part, to incorporate racial-ethnic equity into the organization, served as COO at Center for Public Policy Priorities, and she is currently a member of the Children’s Advocacy Leadership Network.
Frances is excited to learn and grow from the groundwork that Max, our Founder, has already laid for Urban Roots, building our organization into one of the city’s top nonprofits focused on farming, youth development and community.
Urban Roots has exciting plans for growth ahead! Frances will lead our organization as we serve more future leaders and extend our footprint to serve more communities throughout the Austin area. Frances’ thoughtful leadership style is a great fit for our mission and our stakeholders, and I can’t wait for you to meet her!
