Topo Chico Provides Refreshments for Week 2 & 3 of “Let’s Get Cooking with Urban Roots”

This summer, we launched an all-new video series titled, “Let’s Get Cooking with Urban Roots,” sponsored by Whole Foods Market, The City of Austin Office of Sustainability, and Farmhouse Delivery! We’re so grateful for our friends at Topo Chico who partnered with Urban Roots for the second and third week, and provided their refreshing sparkling mineral water in each box! We are so appreciative for our partnership with Topo Chico! We love working them with not only because their product is delicious, but also because they’re a really great company that gives back!

More About Topo Chico

Topo Chico isn’t just a sparkling water. It has grown a loyal, almost obsessive, following over its 125 year history. Sourced from a spring that bubbles out of an inactive volcano in northeastern Mexico, it comes in throwback glass bottles that are catnip for tastemaskers at hotels and bars across the country. The appeal is more than stylistic; fans have been guzzling the fizzy water since long before it became a national phenomenon. If you haven’t tried it yet, you owe it to yourself to find out why it’s worth seeking out. Learn more about this incredible company here

About the Let’s Get Cooking with Urban Roots Video Series

For the final week, Urban Roots released a video on July 1st, which included a cooking tutorial, a message from Urban Roots Executive Director Max Elliott and our youth leaders, plus more exclusive content. As a part of the video series, Urban Roots sold a box of produce each week and a recipe from a local chef! The videos are available on Instagram TV and Urban Roots’ website. While boxes are sold out at this time, if you purchased a box for any of the three weeks during the series and would like to be entered into the chance to win a giveaway prize from Made In, be sure to make an additional donation here or set up a monthly gift to become a Rainmaker here by 7/3!

The week 3 box will include: Tomatoes, Eggplant, Peppers, Basil, Squash, Garlic Chives, Okra or Cucumbers (Farmer’s Pick), Beets, Purple Daikon Radish; Pasture-Raised Ghee Butter Squeeze Bottle from Vital Farms; a half-loaf of sourdough white bread and a chocolate chip cookie from ThoroughBread; green curry paste and coconut milk from Thai Fresh; olive oil from Con’ Olio; and Topo Chico Mineral Water

The video series serves as a fundraiser for the organization, creating an opportunity for Urban Roots to fulfill its two-part mission: to use food and farming to transform the lives of young people and inspire, engage, and nourish the community.
