Here’s something to celebrate: Urban Roots is joining nonprofits around the world for #GivingTuesdayNow.
Join us for an Urban Roots Virtual Luncheon on Tuesday, May 5th at 1:00 PM CDT, featuring a live-streamed conversation with Urban Roots youth and world-renowned Food Justice Advocate, Raj Patel, in celebration of #GivingTuesdayNow. Tune in to hear an Urban Roots youth in dialogue with Mr. Patel, an update from Executive Director Max Elliott, and a prize drawing of three farm experiences for everyone who makes a donation when they RSVP for the event!
We know times are tough. That’s why we’ve decided to use #GivingTuesdayNow to come together to celebrate the strength and resilience of our farm in this time of uncertainty.
Acts of generosity make us resilient. The event is free with a suggested donation of $50. Help us raise $5,000 for #GivingTuesdayNow to offset the costs of planting, tending, and harvesting our farm so that we may continue to feed our neighbors and continue youth programming in this uncertain time.
Plus, order lunch from our official event Lunch Partner, Chi’lantro, and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to Urban Roots! #GivingTuesdayNow is a worldwide day of giving and unity, on Tuesday, May 5. In response to the urgent needs caused by the COVID-19 Crisis, this day of solidarity invites the community to come together to give to nonprofits and perform acts of generosity for our neighbors, even while socially distant. In addition to this event, we are joining nonprofits across Austin to fundraise through I Live Here, I Give Here starting now through May 5th. Donate now in honor of this global day of giving to support our youth programming, the farm, and our dedicated staff.
