In case you haven’t heard, Urban Roots is gearing up for #GivingTuesdayNow and our first ever Virtual Luncheon on Tuesday, May 5th at 1:00 PM CDT, featuring a live-streamed conversation with Urban Roots youth and world-renowned Food Justice Advocate, Raj Patel. To add to the excitement, our friends at Chi’lantro have sign on as our official Lunch Partner! Hurry to order your lunch by today, Monday, May 4th at 12 p.m. to enjoy during tomorrow’s event. -Place your order by Monday, May 4th at 12 p.m. to receive your lunch delivery on May 5th.
-Upon check out, first enter the information in the “order details” section of the shopping cart.
-Then enter this code to receive free delivery: UrbanRootsDelivery.
-Please note: all deliveries, no matter the time requested online, will be delivered anytime between 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. on May 5th.
-This lunch is available for Delivery only, so do not select “Pick Up” at check out.
We know times are tough. That’s why we’ve decided to use #GivingTuesdayNow to come together to celebrate the strength and resilience of our farm in this time of uncertainty. The event is free with a suggested donation of $50. Help us raise $5,000 for #GivingTuesdayNow to offset the costs of planting, tending, and harvesting our farm so that we may continue to feed our neighbors and continue youth programming in this uncertain time.

Our friends at Chi’lantro have faced many difficult decisions during this challenging time, as have many restaurants around the world. Their determination, grit, and sense of community during this time has been so inspiring to Urban Roots. Not only have they worked hard to support their staff as much as they could during this time, they have also supported our community in other ways, including partnering with the ATX hospital system to provide meals for those in need, in addition to supporting Urban Roots for our #GivingTuesdayNow Virtual Luncheon event. #GivingTuesdayNow is a worldwide day of giving and unity, on Tuesday, May 5. In response to the urgent needs caused by the COVID-19 Crisis, this day of solidarity invites the community to come together to give to nonprofits and perform acts of generosity for our neighbors, even while socially distant. In addition to this event, we are joining nonprofits across Austin to fundraise through I Live Here, I Give Here starting now through May 5th. Donate now in honor of this global day of giving to support our youth programming, the farm, and our dedicated staff.
