Urban Roots cultivates leadership skills through food and farming to transform the lives of young people and inspire, engage, and nourish the community
Urban Roots provides today’s young leaders with paid opportunities to grow food, learn new skills, and make a difference in their community. If you are a young person who’s excited to grow your leadership skills and get your hands dirty, or if you know one, join us!
Volunteers on our farm can expect to get their hands dirty and help us get work done. Since Urban Roots interns are the ones leading volunteers through challenging farm work, they receive a unique opportunity to grow their skills in public speaking and project management.
Here at Urban Roots, we believe that everyone can make a difference. Each year, young people, volunteers, and community leaders unite on our farm. Together, we grow over 25,000 pounds of fresh foods, and donate 40% of this to 12 hunger relief agencies across Austin.
Urban Roots is looking for an experienced, passionate fundraiser and organizational leader to join our team as Development Director. Please check out the listing here for more information on the position and how to apply.
