Our hero is YOU: Have your year-end gift matched TODAY!

Because of your support, Urban Roots is celebrating 10 years of empowering youth and nourishing the community. This year we aim to give more than $115,000 directly to 70+ young people through paid internships on our farm — which means we hope to distribute in just one season more than a quarter of what we’ve done in the entire past decade!

Who is your favorite hero? We ask this interview question to every youth ages 14-17 who apply for the paid Farm Internship Program each spring. Some have said…Walter Payton for his drive, Rosa Parks for her courage, Harry Potter for his magical powers, My parents for working so hard to provide for our family! These youth name athletes, historical figures, and fictional superheroes, but even more frequently, they talk about someone close to them — an everyday hero.

Every member of our community who supports this work in any way is our hero — your support helps create opportunities for hundreds of youth to thrive as they grow food for the community. Make your gift now and The Terry and Regina Armstrong Family Foundation will generously match all donations to Urban Roots made before midnight on December 31st, up to $25,000 so please make your gift today!
